Thursday November 3. 1004 - I I West-End School Board OK's New Vehicle Fee Schedule After quite a hit of work on the part of the administrative staff, a revised rate schedule for use of school district vehicles was approved by the West End School Board at the October 18 meeting. The new rates which would be charged to community groups and student groups {other than for school-related or Distrlct-approved func- tions) is 20 cents per mile, plus fuel. for automobiles: 30 cents per mile. plus fuel. for vans; and 81.00 per mile (in- cluding driving) for buses. Rates are subject to change and organizations are responsible for paying any standby time required of the driver. The board postponed ac- ting on a number of policies in order to allow more t/me to review the proposed policies. An evaluation format for sup- port staff was approved by the board, as was approval of District participation in a cafeteria plan through Franklin Life. A letter of resignation from Valerle Castle as NHS Com- puter/ Distance Learning Aide was accepted. The board approved Patty Riley as a substitute custodian and Dlanne Robuck as a sub- stitute teacher for the lgg4- 05 school year. A report was made to the board regarding the State Ac- countability Conference. The board will meet next on Tuesday. November 15. at 7:30 p.m. Accountability Welcomes Public Although members of the "public at large" seldom, if ever, attend an Account- ability Committee meeting. whether at the building level or the District meeting, the public is welcome and even encouraged to attend. The West End School Dis- trict Accountability Meeting III II III I1 '11 met Monday evening to work on developing a plan of action to meet the 1004-05 goals. discuss ways to celebrate and honor American Educa- tion Week. and hear reports from the building principals and student accountability members. The goals set for this year I III II I III II by the District Accountability Committee are to monitor the development of a standards based curriculum: monitor the District discipline policy.
