Students Tested To See If They Hold The Weight
A student adds more weight In the crate which applies more force to the bridge
structure. In the lower rlght picture, the bridge structure holds but the roadway
gives way leaving a gaping hole for vehlcles to drop through to their wet and
destructive demise. The brldge In the lower left picture wasn't as lucky.
The bridge building class
at Naturita Middle School
recently experienced a test dif-
ferent than the usual pencil and
paper type. The class was test-
ed to see if they held their
weight at being amateur engi-
neers. The class was broken
into groups which designed
their own bridges.
Each group was allotted
a certain amount of money to
purchase the bridge material.
Each bridge had to have 5 cen-
timeters clearance between its

concerning the case.
The Montrose County
Sheriff's Posse secured the area
and CBI began their investiga-
tion of the reported bags. They
were empty phistic bags buried
near a tank outside of Uravan
which brought suspicion.
According to Sheriff
Warren Waterman, CBI did the
excavation of the bags and ran
tests for hair and blood samples.
lqothing was found and they are
not sure' what was in them. CBI
is running more lab tests to see
what the bags may have con-
tained.
Sheriff Waterman sus-
pects they may have contained
refuse of some type deposited
by either hunters or fishers in
the area.
Sheriff Waterman said
CB1 is absolutely sure the bags
are unrelated to the Dale
Williams case.
The case on Dale
Williams was recently aired on
Unsolved Mysteries last month
bringing new interest to the
case. The segment was sched-
uled to be aired on the Lifetime
Channel September 17, 2002.
Many area residents watched
the entire segment waiting to
view the case but were disap-
pointed by the end of the show.
Unsolved Mysteries aired the
Dale Williams segment the day
before causing many to miss the
episode.
Dale Williams was last
seen Thursday, May 27,1999.
