"We're trying to provide a
continuity of care that is com-
munity oriented, and we plan to
be here a long time," Says
Physician's Assistant, Rick
Oberlin. Last month, Oberlin
and Dr. Avis Severance, of
Agape Family Practice, opened
an office in the Nucla Hospital
Building on Main Street.
Both Severance and Oberlin
are well-known names to the
West End, as both worked at the
Southwest Basin Clinic in recent
years. Severance established a
Grand Junction based private
practice about four years ago,
and Oberlin, upon leaving his
position at the clinic, has been
commuting to Junction four
days a week to work for that
practice.
"I fell in love with the area, I
didn't want to move," Oberlin
explains. "Both Dr. Severance
and I have patients here, and it is
hard for them to travel to Grand
Junction for their care."
Oberlin describes the prac-
tiee as "a full scope fam'By.prac-
